Mill Scale

We offer Mill Scale from major production sources. Please contact us for an analysis and current pricing information. Current allotments of materials are available in volumes of 500 tons to several thousand tons per month. Spot purchases or potential long term contracts are our specialty. All materials we sell are screened and clean, low residuals and will meet most standard specification needs.

Mill Scale used to be considered as waste streams by most steel producers. When China entered into the worldwide steel market, all available ferrous raw materials were considered as potential supply options for iron units. Mill Scale makes good use of steel making and also has many other uses that we will highlight. Many factories mix a certain amount of Mill scale with iron ore fines before sintering, to boost the iron content. Another main use is for cement production, but for this purpose, lower quality Mill scale can be used as well as iron ore and other materials which we also can source.

Steel Scrap

Our major ferrous products include heavy melting steel, busheling, bundled scrap, shredded scrap, and other scrap metal products, such as steel turnings and cast iron. These products vary in properties. We process an array of ferrous products through a variety of methods, including sorting, shredding, shearing, cutting, breaking, and baling. The necessary characteristics of the ferrous products are determined by the specific needs and requirements of the consumer. We also process numerous grades of nonferrous products, including aluminum, brass, copper, stainless steel, and other nonferrous metals. Omni Electronics Recycling handles all forms of electronics equipment, metals, and other recyclables, ensuring electronic scrap is properly and responsibly recycled and managed. Additionally, we operate a secondary-aluminum smelter, Superior Aluminum Alloys, that produces certified aluminum alloys in the form of ingots, sows, deox cones, deox rod/wire, and molten metal.

Pellet Chips & Fines

Using pellets instead of sinter (slightly larger pieces of iron ore) in customers’ pig iron processes saves emissions at steel plants. The high concentration of iron combined with the carefully tested and balanced additives in our pellets also result in lower emissions in customers’ ironmaking processes.

Blast furnace pellets are used in steel production and are ready for production upon delivery. Our product provides great added value in that process, as it contains various minerals that improve high temperature properties.

Customers producing steel in electric steel furnaces instead use our direct reduction pellets, commonly referred to as DR pellets. Our high pellet quality generates less slag, lower energy consumption, higher productivity and lower maintenance and wear in steelmaking.

About 20% of our iron ore production is turned into magnetite fines (MAF). They are particularly suitable for high temperature agglomeration (sintering).
